New hire will educate surgeon partners on company's Less Exposure Surgery platform.
SpineFrontier has hired an organizational trainer/educator, Tamara Souriolle, to train its team and surgeon partners in its Less Exposure Surgery techniques and philosophy. Less Exposure Surgery, otherwise known as the LES platform, is summarized by company founder and CEO Kingsley Chin, M.D., as a way “to lessen exposure proportionate to the problem and the patient, preserve unoffending anatomy, and utilize fundamental principles adapted to new technologies which are safe, easy to adopt, reproducible and lessen blood loss, surgical time, and exposure to radiation with the aim to achieve maximal effectiveness for a rapid and less painful outpatient recovery.” Souriolle joins SpineFrontier from Medtronic, where she authored an extensive education curriculum and trained sales representatives. She holds an MS in organizational leadership, and has educated and trained professional teams across multiple industries for eleven years. “Training SpineFrontier’s ambitious team of employees, sales representatives and surgeons on the LES philosophy gives me the opportunity to stay on the cutting edge of spine care,” she said. “Fusing the spine or correcting deformities using current techniques scares patients because of the poor results they see when their families and friends are treated,” China added. “Using bone fusion as the primary outcome criteria overlooks a patient’s recovery time and quality of life. Tamara will work with us to build our training program and build the bridge between SpineFrontier and the LESSociety’s LES University to train and educate new surgeon leaders as we move from large hospitals to surgery centers. Less Exposure Surgery techniques will yield quicker, safer surgeries with minimal complications and excellent outcomes and more positive patient experiences.” The LESSociety’s (Less Exposure Surgery Surgeons) “LES University” is the training center with which Souriolle will work to train surgeons in the LES philosophy principles. The goal, according to company officials, is to help transition surgical procedures into outpatient surgery centers around the world as the company moves from large hospitals to surgery centers. SpineFrontier makes minimally invasive surgical instruments for spine, and is based in Beverly, Mass.
